LitMonitor: an AI weekly literature monitor
Keeping up with two literatures at once, cognitive psychology and energy markets, is the kind of chore that gets done badly or not at all. LitMonitor does it for me. It searches Semantic Scholar on a schedule across configurable keyword, journal and author streams, has an LLM score each new paper against an operationalised research profile (a relevance score, plus anything that contradicts my own hypotheses), and sends a weekly HTML digest with open-access links and a BibTeX export.
It runs locally against a SQLite database, so no third-party service holds the research profile and there is nothing to subscribe to. Version 2.16.1 shipped in July 2026, with a guided setup wizard for Windows, macOS and Linux and a choice of provider: Anthropic, OpenRouter, or a self-hosted OpenAI-compatible server.
